Introducing Template Families

How to Keep Your Videos Consistent with Template Families

In this quick video, I’ll walk you through a common mistake when using motion graphics — mixing too many different styles — and show you how to fix it using template families from our library.

How to Keep Your Videos Consistent with Template Families

When it comes to using motion graphics in your videos, style matters. A single, well-designed animation can elevate your video — but combining multiple templates with different styles? That’s where things can fall apart fast.

Enter Template Families

To help with this, we’ve created template families.

Template families are groups of animations that all share the same visual language — same style, color palette, animation timing, and even placeholder imagery. Each family includes multiple components like:

  • Logo stings

  • Intros

  • Titles

  • Lower thirds

  • Transitions

  • Outros

These elements are designed to work together, giving your video a consistent, professional feel from beginning to end.

How to Find Template Families

There are two easy ways to identify templates from the same family:

Search by Template Name
Most families share a common name or theme. If you find a lower third you like, try searching that name — chances are you’ll find intros, transitions, and outros in the same style.

Look by Release Date
We often release full families around the same time. If you spot a new template, check other templates released in that same batch — they’re likely related.

For ease of use, we created a new category called “Families” that you can access in the side menu of your “Library” page.

Most template families are available exclusively to Pro users — including our most cohesive and creative sets.

Why It Matters

Consistent design isn’t just about aesthetics — it makes your content easier to watch, more cohesive, and more memorable. Whether you’re creating product promos, tutorials, or brand content, using a matching set of motion graphics helps your message come through clearly and professionally.

Final Tip

Next time you’re building a project, try starting with a template family instead of mixing random styles. It’ll save you time and make your video look way more polished.

Need inspiration? Head to our library and try searching by template name — you might be surprised how much cleaner your edits look with just this one change.
