Since its release in November 2022, ChatGPT has turned the business world on its head. The AI chatbot has proven able to write business strategies, website code, and even whole novels.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
With Google soon set to launch its own AI-powered chatbot, Google Bard, there’s no telling where AI could take us. Right now, marketers are scrambling to figure out how this powerful new tool can be used to their advantage. Regarding video content, the potential for small and medium-sized businesses is tremendous.
To help you harness that power, Viddyoze has created ten unique video prompts that you can use to generate ideas, inspire creativity in your writing, conduct SEO research, write video scripts, and much more.

What Are Video Prompts?
Video prompts are written instructions for AI chatbots such as ChatGPT. They instruct the software to carry out marketing tasks that relate to creating or improving video content.
Video prompts speed up several tasks, such as conducting keyword research, generating video ideas, or writing an entire script. If used correctly, video writing prompts could save small businesses significant time, resources, and effort.

Each of the video prompts can be copied and pasted directly into ChatGPT. Ensure you copy the below video prompts precisely as they are written.
1. Start The Next TikTok Challenge
Act as a marketeer. I will provide you with a list of recent TikTok challenges. You will provide me with a list of ideas similar to the challenges provided, but the challenges you provide must never have been done before. Below are the TikTok challenges:
- The Lip Sync Challenge
- The Don’t Rush Challenge
- The Face Wax Challenge
- The Cha-Cha Slide Challenge
- The Milk Crate Challenge
- The Silhouette Challenge
- The Blackout Challenge
- The Most Popular TikTok Dance Challenge Right Now
- The DIY Vampire Fangs Challenge
- The Towel Challenge
TikTok challenges are an awesome way to gain brand exposure. In the US alone, the app has 150 million users every month.
With that in mind, we’ve created a video prompt to generate ideas for the next viral challenge. The major benefit here is the time saved brainstorming. This simple prompt generates ten ideas in a matter of seconds.
Video prompts like this one favor businesses targeting Gen Z customers, TikTok’s largest user group. The major downside to this writing prompt for video is that ChatGPT’s knowledge only runs up to 2021. As new versions are released, this is very likely to be updated.
The general quality of the ideas ChatGPT was average. There were a few stinkers, such as The Slow-Mo Glam Challenge: Get dolled up in your fanciest outfit and film yourself walking in slow motion, striking poses, and generally feeling fabulous.
But they did give us the odd winner, like the Virtual Cooking Challenge: Host a virtual cooking competition with your friends or followers. Challenge them to cook a particular dish or ingredient and have them share their recipes and videos.
One tip to get more relevant TikTok ideas for your business is changing the list of challenges in the prompt. The ones we’ve provided are a general list of viral challenges. However, if you alter this list only to include industry-specific challenges to your niche, ChatGPT will do a better job of suggesting challenges that will mobilize your target audience.
2. Create A Video Sitemap
I will provide you with an example of a video sitemap provided by Google. I will also provide a list of video URLs. Create a video sitemap following the example provided that I can submit to the Google search console. Here is the sitemap example:
<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?>
<video:title>Grilling steaks for summer</video:title>
<video:description>Alkis shows you how to get perfectly done steaks every time</video:description>
<video:restriction relationship=”allow”>IE GB US CA</video:restriction>
<video:uploader info=target=”_blank” https://www.example.com/users/grillymcgrillerson”>GrillyMcGrillerson </video:uploader>
Here is the list of URLs:
[your urls here]
A video sitemap is a simple way to boost your site’s SEO power. However, creating one can take time and effort.
Video sitemaps were added to Google Search Console in 2022 to help website owners generate more organic traffic from their video content by providing more information to the search engine.
Given how technical a video sitemap is, this is perfect for people who need help understanding code, SEO, or both. You’ll save heaps of time using this video prompt and get into Google’s good books.
It is important to note that ChatGPT guessed some of the information when we ran this prompt. As with anything AI-related, all data should be fact-checked by a person before being submitted to Google.
In general, the sitemap was useable and worth running the prompt. Still, it would be wise to include more specific information about the video author and timestamps when providing the list of URLs.
3. Conduct YouTube Keyword Research
Give me 10 different keyword variations of [insert keyword] that address a different search intent.
Marketing expert Matt Diggity created this next video prompt as a great way to save time conducting YouTube SEO keyword research.
Here are two examples of secondary keywords this prompt provided when used with the target keyword “video marketing”:
- “How to do video marketing” – This keyword variation targets people looking for instructional or tutorial content on how to get started with video marketing.
- “Video marketing trends” – This keyword variation targets people who want to stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in video marketing.
The chatbot provides ideas plus a summary of the kind of person who might be searching for this keyword.
For SEO professionals, you’ll know how important achieving topical authority for your website or YouTube channel is. The beauty of this prompt is that it instructs ChatGPT to provide keywords that cover different search intents, meaning each keyword will be unique, and creating the suggested content will help you achieve topical authority much faster.
Again, this is a definite timesaver, as it only takes a few seconds, and you can run video prompts like this repeatedly.
One thing to remember: OpenAi’s model won’t give you search volumes (the frequency people search for specific keywords each month), so you’ll need to run that through a separate tool, such as Ahrefs.
4. Check Industry-Specific Video Trends
Provide a list of marketing videos that are used in the [Insert industry name] industry but could not be used in any other industry sectors. Do not include generic types of videos, such as testimonials or educational videos.
This prompt is purely to inspire creativity. It will give you a range of marketing video ideas specific to your industry.
When we ran it for the dental industry, the ChatGPT gave us the following:
- Before-and-after videos showcasing dental procedure results.
- Videos showcasing the latest technology and equipment used in dental offices.
- Time-lapse videos that show the progression of a dental procedure over some time.
- Dental procedure animation videos that show how specific treatments are performed in a step-by-step format.
All of the above are accurate for the sector. The chatbot also provided a short description of the video type and how each one might be used. For businesses new to video marketing, this video prompt gives you a good starting point from which to make waves in your target market.
If nothing else, this is a great resource for brainstorming ahead of your next marketing meeting. You could even run video prompts like this during presentations to inspire attendees and spark a discussion.
5. Get Storytelling Ideas For Your Videos
Suggest a list of storytelling formulas that I can apply to my marketing videos that will make customers understand the value of my products.
The problem for most brands is that they think story-led content is too difficult to make. With the OpenAI large language model chatbot, that doesn’t have to be the case.
One of our video writing prompts instructs the chatbot to develop a series of formulas that can be used to transform any message into a story. When we ran this one, the results were impressive. The chatbot returned five ideas, with a detailed description of each. Here’s one example:
The Hero’s Journey: This is a classic storytelling formula where the protagonist faces challenges and obstacles to achieve a goal. You can use this formula by highlighting your customers’ challenges and how your product can help to overcome them.
This formula is a classic. Using this, and others like it, you can develop a video into an epic story and deliver better results. Video prompts like this one are ideal for marketers looking to take their creativity to the next level.
6. Write Scripts For Any Type Of Marketing Video
Video Writing Prompt:
Act as a scriptwriter. I will provide you with a target audience, product, and video format. You will create an enthusiastic video script with the goal of making the viewer want to buy my product. The video must include two calls to action, one at the 50% point of the video and another towards the end. My request “Target audience: [insert here]. The product:[insert here]. Video format: [insert here].”
The secret to effective video marketing prompts is attention to detail. The more information you give a Large Language Model (LLM) chatbot, the better the outcome.
The following story prompt asks the chatbot to create a complete script for a marketing video. The video prompt contains essential business information, including the target audience, product, and the type of video required.
The chatbot provided a decent script, executing all our instructions accurately. The writing was good and could be used as it was. Even if you don’t use the script, it’s a great starting point. You can use the story to inspire new ideas or edit it until you are happy with the outcome.
Whichever route you take, this video prompt is an excellent timesaver for businesses with limited resources. While it won’t produce a more emotional or thought-provoking script than a human, the result is good enough to justify its use.
7. Get Title Ideas That Are Optimized For YouTube SEO
Video Writing Prompt:
I have created a video around [insert video topic]. I want you to provide 10 YouTube SEO-optimized titles that include the keyword: [insert keyword]. The keyword must feature in the first 50% of all title characters.
YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world, with billions of users tuning in every month to get their content hit.
Your videos must be SEO optimized to YouTube’s specifications to generate as many views as possible.
ChatGPT can help improve your SEO using some carefully crafted video writing prompts. The one we have used instructs the chatbot to write 10 video titles that follow YouTube SEO best practices.
Not only will these video titles generate your channel traffic, but they’re also written in an engaging manner that makes people want to click through.
Aside from being a timesaver, this writing prompt is great for marketers with limited SEO knowledge. With some tweaking, it can also be used to write other metadata, such as the video’s description. For more detailed advice about SEO, check out this article.
8. Improve The Closed Captions On Your Videos
Video Writing Prompt:
Act as a proofreader. I will provide you with a text. I want you to fix the grammar and punctuation of the provided text. Here is the text:
[Paste your YouTube captions].
When you upload a video to YouTube, the platform automatically generates captions. These captions are good for SEO and engagement and are well worth creating.
Generally, the captions are pretty good, but they need a little tidying up. The chatbot will proofread and edit those captions using video writing prompts, like the one we’re about to show you. Here’s how to do it:
- Download the captions from YouTube
- Copy the captions into ChatGPT
- Add the following writing prompt
For the most part, the chatbot will proofread accurately. However, it occasionally slips up. Even with video writing prompts, the bot isn’t perfect. Run the corrected text through another editor, such as Grammarly, to ensure high accuracy.
9. Provide International Subtitles For Your Videos
Video Writing Prompt:
Translate your previous message into [insert language].
The chatbot can help you translate your subtitles for international markets if you publish content in multiple languages. However, translation can only be done within the same chat dashboard as the previous point about creating your video captions.
Again, while this will save you time, the translation may need improvement; it could have some mistakes and errors. It’s worth running the whole thing through another program, for example, Google Translate, to ensure the message is clear.
While Google Translate could be better, you’ll be able to see whether or not the message is clear. If the videos are successful, you may want to use a certified translation service as your output grows. Given the scope for expansion into international markets, this is an effective way to test the water.
10. Repurpose Your Video Content As Blog Posts
Video Writing Prompt:
Act as an experienced SEO content writer. I will provide you with a video transcript. I want you to transform this transcript into a fully optimized blog post that follows all current SEO best practices. Here is the video transcript:
[insert video transcript].
Another timesaver, the chatbot can help you convert your existing videos into SEO-optimized blog posts.
Repurposing video content is a great way to produce new marketing materials on a budget. For example, suppose you have a YouTube video that is generating a healthy amount of organic traffic on the platform. In that case, the same content will likely drive organic traffic to your website if transcribed and edited into a blog post.
Repurposing is about squeezing every last drop of value out of your marketing materials, and ChatGPT will help you do just that.
While the AI tool will produce coherent SEO copy, it is unlikely to be particularly thrilling or inventive from a creativity standpoint. For context, some experts have likened ChatGPT’s essays to the level of an average college student.
But considering that you already have the video script or recording transcript available, ChatGPT doesn’t need to think up anything new, so you should be safe when using the content it provides on your website.
Final Thoughts On Video Prompts For ChatGPT
AI is going nowhere. If anything, its use in marketing will only become more frequent. For smaller businesses, this could be huge. As we’ve just seen, this tech will allow you to work smarter, not harder, regarding video prompts and your video marketing.
Using the 10 video writing prompts we’ve just laid out, you can upgrade your output, creating more content than ever before.
